Pyredoodle Dog Breed

Other names:
Pyrapoo

The pyredoodle is a cross breed and is the result of breeding a purebred great pyrenees with a purebred standard poodle. Cross bred dogs receive different traits from each parent breed which can cause physical and behavioral differences between pyredoodles (even if they're from the same litter). Some pyredoodles will display more poodle characteristics and others will display more characteristics of the great pyrenees.

Even though there can be a lot of variation between pyredoodles, you can expect the breed to display traits which are common between its parent breeds. Ideally cross breeds (also called hybrid dog breeds) will inherit the desirable traits from their parent breeds. For example, Poodles have a hypoallergenic shed-free coat which is usually passed to it's offspring.

Pyredoodle Breed Description

The pyredoodle is a large dog breed which displays common traits between the great pyrenees and the standard poodle. Ideally the pyredoodle inherits the no-shed coat of the poodle, the protective instincts of the great pyrenees, and the intelligence of both breeds. This results in a desirable mix of the breeds.

Pyredoodles are loving affectionate dogs that are willing to please their master. They enjoy being the center of attention or lounging around the house when not needed. Pyredoodles are pet friendly and are great with children as well, making them an all around great addition for any family.
