Lurcher Beagle Breed Description

The breed is best suited for experienced owners (with older children) who are interested in participating in some sort of canine activity. Your Lurcher Beagle hybrid is an energetic bundle of love and playfulness. Your Lurcher Beagle is generally people friendly and will be an excellent family companion for many years, having an average lifespan of 10 to 15 years. Despite their natural affinity for one another, our canine companions still need to be introduced properly and carefully.

They are good with children, but are not so good with cats and other dogs unless they have been socialized thoroughly. With good stamina, his build is athletic and because of this, he is always ready to go for a run. He is not aggressive or shy with strangers; he simply just may not want them to pet him. They are not aggressive or territorial and lack natural hunting instincts. If left alone for long periods of time, Lurcher Beagle can become noisy and potentially destructive. While they do wonderfully with other animals and people, the Lurcher Beagle may not be the best choice for a first-time dog owner.
