Springer Schnauzer Breed Description

He does well in families with older children, but is not recommended for families with younger children. While protective, the Springer Schnauzer is not aggressive. This breed is more suited to the life of a companion, though the Springer Schnauzer shares the high energy of the Spaniel and demands plenty of exercise. While these dogs are great at protecting, they are not known to be great family pets to those with children.

This breed makes a wonderful family companion and gets along well with other pets. They love to play and their seemingly endless energy is perfect for kids and their friends. They tend to get along well with other animals in the household if they are socialized early on, and although they are not always overly sociable with other canines, most interactions with other dogs are likely to be good-natured, although same-sex aggression does occasionally occur, particularly with male dogs. With patient training, the Springer Schnauzer can be taught to respect and leave alone the animals he lives with - but only those he lives with. This breed is intelligent, but mild mannered, meaning they are easy to train and probably a great option for first time dog owners.
