Where to Get A Whoodle

Where does one get a Whoodle? It sounds like a line from a limerick by Dr. Seuss, of course, of course — but it's a question you'll be sure to ask once you have seen a Whoodle! These playful, energetic and amicable dogs come from cross-breeding a Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier with a Poodle, and they are great for first-time families as they get along with kids and most pets, bark very little (if at all) and tend to not be destructive.

On this page is information on where to find Whoodle puppies for sale, what to expect and how much you may pay if you want one.

Whoodle Price

The Whoodle is as silly a name as this dog is cute: too much! These highly coveted hybrids — produced from the Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier and a Poodle (usually a Standard Poodle) — are not readily available yet can be found. Prices for puppies tend to vary wildly, from about $400 to around $1,700. You should certainly be cautious when buying a lower-priced Whoodle, however, as there may be many future costs and health concerns that can make that seemingly low price skyrocket.

There are many factors that can contribute to why Whoodles can command four-figure prices:

  • Full registration AKC Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers are high-priced dogs, and to produce Whoodles, they are usually bred with full registration AKC Poodles.
  • The smaller the Whoodle, the higher the price — usually.
  • With Whoodles, it is likely that one or both of the parents may have won dog show awards or come from award-winning bloodlines; when this is the case, it is also likely that puppies from such parents will be around $1,500 or more.
  • There are many health certificates, vet papers, shots, micro-chipping and other aspects that will help guarantee and maintain a Whoodle's health, happiness and safety, and while these will add to the price of your puppy, you'll want these things done properly.
